UPDATE: 1 injured in AG bus crash

Albert Gallatin Area School District officials said one child received a scratch and no one else was injured when a large tree branch shattered part of the windshield on a school bus carrying a group of fifth-grade D. Ferd Elementary School students.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The children were safely evacuated to another bus and returned to D. Ferd Swaney Elementary School. Officials are expected to notify all parents of students on the bus of the incident.

According to officials, the incident occurred near the George J. Plava Elementary School as students were returning to school from a junior high visitation day at Albert Gallatin North.


Albert Gallatin Area High School introduces ‘Flip the Switch’

Albert Gallatin Area High School invites the public to a “Flip the Switch” event highlighting new technology and how it is allowing teachers to transform their instruction to better meet the needs of the 21st century learner.

The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday and is expected to include local elected officials and a presentation to “flip the switch,” or officially introduce the technology to the public.

Funded by a $412,274 Classrooms for the Future state grant, the state-of-the-art technology has been included in 16 high school math, English, science and social studies classrooms. The high school was selected as one of the first of 358 schools across the state to receive the grant.
