State police have charged a Uniontown man with homicide by vehicle in the 2007 death of a Fayette County man in Georges Township.
Edward Eugene Weimer, 51, of 209 Fairview St., had been charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and reckless driving after the pickup truck he was driving struck and killed Jonathan Anderkovitch on Dec. 22.
State police Trooper Matthew J. Alekson amended the charges today before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham to include homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to Fayette County Assistant District Attorney Phyllis A. Jin, Weimer has a prior record including a DUI charges in 2001 and a homicide by vehicle charge in a DUI-related crash in 1984. The result of those charges was not immediately known.
